Anansi cat?

Well, it's been three days now and no Anansi. She's known to go on walkabouts for a few days, but this is the longest one. I have a feeling she's probably "living" with another family in our neighborhood at this point (she did this before for two days) and will more than likely slip out and come back home soon.

In the meantime, I'm going to make signs to post in the neighborhood. I sure do miss her and her 3 pack a day smoking meows.

things are looking up

I finally stopped fighting reason and

a) took a cold bath to wash the sweat and crap off me. Though I barely fit in the bath tub anymore. It's a laugh riot to watch me get in and out.

b) made myself an iced blended faux-cosmo which I drank in said bath.

c) turned on the air conditioning in the bedroom.

d) brought my lappy up so I can do my web surfing/baby stuff buying from the air conditioned bedroom.

e) purchased the last round of goods for cloth diapering start-up from Cotton Babies (diaper pail, pail liner, 2x wet bags for our diaper bag, 2 more infant sized contour diapers.)

My plan is to stay up here until Tim gets back from football watching, then maybe hang out with friends/visit our next door neighbors for some much needed social time.

UGH no likey the weather

this hot, sticky, muggy, miserable ass weather has GOT to go. I don't know if I can communicate to you how AWFUL it is to be existing in this type of weather while 34 weeks pregnant... but let me tell you, it's the pits.

I can't do anything. I'm so restless. It's too hot to really dance, I don't want to clean, I'm tired of sitting on the couch, but I don't want to go outside wahh wahh wahh. I wish I was magically transported to the pool or a nice, cool place where my clothes didn't stick to me.

I'm so tired of being inside, though, that I think I'm going to force myself to go out and run some errands or something. I will go mucha crazy if I stay inside all day.

But seriously, Maryland. I feel so angry that we had those couple of beautiful, cool, early Fall-esque kind of days and now we're back to this crap. I hate muggy summer weather and just want to be able to feel the nip in the air and drink some hot cider. Is that so much to ask for?

saturday, makes me feel fine

Got my motherload of cloth diapers and accessories in yesterday. I now have a mess of prefolds in the washer, undergoing their pre-wash (for those not in the baby-know, pre-folded diapers are like giant washclothes that are pre-stitched to show you where to fold to make a diaper. You have to wash them 3-5 times to get them to the right fiber absorbency level), some uber-cute covers I am going to wash by hand and some all in ones that also need a washing.

Besides that, my plans are to go to prenatal yoga with Danuta (which I did last week and found to be delightfully challenging) and then MAYBE do a bit of house cleaning before sitting on my duff and playing WoW. I may, MAY find something to do outdoors for a while like walking around the neighborhood or something so I don't feel like a total laze-about, but I'm not sure. I feel like I need some lazy time!

be careful, jer...

That HURcanes' comin! Stay fresh and clean, up above water and don't forget to use your flutag skills to build a floatilla. Also, take care of Jib the VunderHound, and use him to keep you safe in the MadMaxian Waterworld that could be Houston :)

But for reals, be careful! Post stories of the crazy experience!

PS- I know you don't have a beard anymore, but this picture just looks so thoughtful. It seems appropriate.

look, no ads!

yay! it's so fresh and clean over here.

this is just a test.
